Resurrection Youth Ministry and all of its activities are deeply rooted in the eight components of youth ministry that are essential for a comprehensive Catholic ministry. As described by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops in the 1997 document Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry, the eight components are:
- Advocacy
- Catechesis
- Community Life
- Evangelization
- Justice and Service
- Leadership Development
- Pastoral Care
- Prayer and Worship
To constantly remind ourselves of the importance of these components as we continue building on these ‘pillars’, our ministry has collectively composed a mission statement that we feel embodies the very spirit of these components:

Resurrection Youth Ministry REACHes out to all high school students, UNITEs them through their common beliefs, helps them to GROW in their faith, provides them an opportunity to SHARE their gifts and talents, and encourages them to express their LOVE for God
REACH – Evangelization
UNITE – Community Life, Advocacy
GROW – Catechesis
SHARE – Justice and Service, Leadership Development
LOVE – Prayer & Worship, Pastoral Care
