Feast of The Presentation of The Lord

40 days after Christ was born, Mary and Joseph took Jesus to a Jewish temple to present him to the Lord as it was customary to do so. There, a man by the name of Simeon who was moved by the Holy Spirit to see Christ, referred to Jesus as “a light for revelation to the Gentiles”. As a symbol of this light, candles are often blessed and lit today before mass. This is where today’s feast gets its popular nickname: Candlemas.

Would you have come to the temple to see Christ?

What would you have said to Mary and Joseph?

Happy Presentation!
