Faith Night with the San Jose Earthquakes

I don’t know about you, but after the World Cup ended in dramatic fashion with the world champion Spaniards nabbing their first ever World Cup Final victory, I’ve been missing soccer…

In fact, I’ve been missing soccer SO much that I’ve started missing hearing AWESOME praise & worship music too. Go figure…

If you’re like me, your prayers have been ANSWERED!

On Saturday, July 31st, the San Jose Earthquakes will be hosting FAITH NIGHT at their match against the Seattle Sounders FC. Not only will your friends from the diocese (and Tahoe Retreat) be there, but Nelson Gonzales’ band Friends of Jesus (FOJ) will be performing a FREE concert for all those in attendance. Nelson and the FOJ performed on the main stage at World Youth Day in Australia! The concert begins at 5:30pm and the match begins at 7:00pm. As always, everything will be held at Buck Shaw Stadium.

But wait! There’s MORE… Call now in the next 20 mins and…

Actually, don’t call. But yours truly (goofy little asian man Jonathan, director of the RYM Youth Band & Choir) will be rocking out with Nelson and the Friends of Jesus on bass guitar!!! Yeahhhh!

So, to recap. Three reasons to come to the game on July 31st:

1. Enjoy a free concert by Nelson and the Friends of Jesus. If you’ve never heard them, they are FUN.

2. Cheer on our hometown Earthquakes as they try to go undefeated against the Sounders this season.

3. Watch Jonathan do something silly like fall off the stage during the performance.
